Tune In to The Cibolo

Nature & Art Day Camp

This summer, we invite campers to step away from their screens and tune in to nature at The Cibolo. From “Animals Crossing” to competing in our first Cibolympics, each week reimagines an on-screen classic into an opportunity to unplug outside!

Campers will connect with the wonders of the natural world through exploration, play, and discovery through activities like scavenger hunts, nature-inspired games, birding, and eco-exploration across our five unique ecosystems. Every week is designed to spark curiosity, build friendships, and inspire a lifelong love of the outdoors. This summer, adventure and discovery are just a step outside at The Cibolo!

Joining us for afternoon Art or Theater Camp? Campers will get to unleash their creativity while using nature as a tool.

The Cibolo is pleased to offer camp scholarships for children ages 5-12. Learn more and apply here.

Weekly Themes

  • Tune in to nature at The Cibolo as we kick off our first week of camp this summer by unplugging with bugs! Campers will unplug from their screens and jump into a week of fun participating in bug themed games, presentations, explorative activities, and more to learn all about our bug friends!

  • It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s a bird! If you are a bird nerd like us, or if you want to learn more about them, then this is the week for you! From binocular usage, birding calisthenics, homemade bird feeders and more, we’ll learn about and celebrate our feathered flying friends.

  • Calling all campers! Take your mark and get ready to tune in to nature at The Cibolo for our 2026 Cibolympics! This week, our campers (a.k.a. Cibolympians) will participate in various competitions, from our “duck hunt” to water races.

  • Tune in to nature as we embark on an adventure to uncover what Greenman hears at The Cibolo! From the marble-like sound of cricket frogs to the feathers left behind by the bird feeder, campers will join Greenman on a search for some of the hidden treasures found in nature!

Additionally, children should be confident in basic self-care skills, such as using the restroom independently and dressing themselves, as much of the school day takes place outdoors. These skills ensure your child’s safety, comfort, and ability to fully engage in our outdoor learning environment.

  • Tune in to nature at The Cibolo this week as we explore The Cibolo’s five ecosystems! Each day, we’ll pick a different ecosystem and focus on its unique plants, animals, and more. By the end of the week, campers will understand how all of our ecosystems work together to create a thriving system!

Theater Camp will serve as our afternoon camp session from 1:30–4:30PM during Weeks 5 and 6 (July 6–10 and July 13–17). Unlike our other camps, Theater Camp is a two-week program to allow participants the additional time needed to prepare a full production. Throughout the session, campers will learn, practice, and apply a variety of theatre skills and techniques, all leading up to a final performance at the end of the two weeks. Every participant will be given a meaningful role in the production, ensuring a fun, engaging, and educational experience for all.

  • Tune in to nature at The Cibolo as we learn about all the animals whose paths we might cross! From armadillos leaving trails through the leaves to bats flying by each night, campers will learn about the many animals that call The Cibolo home.

The first four days of camp this week will be filled with the very best and most popular highlights from the summer, chosen by our counselors. On the last day, we’ll host our first ever Cibolo talent show on Friday where campers, counselors, and maybe even a guest or two will show off a few of their talents!

Frequently Asked Questions

We understand that sending your child to camp comes with questions. If you don’t find what you’re looking for below, please contact our Camp Director, Noah Lawrence. We’re here to help!

  • If you are on the waitlist, that means that camp is currently full, but that if any spots open you will automatically be registered and charged tuition in the order you added yourself to the waitlist. The tuition charged after you are removed from the waitlist and registered for camp is nonrefundable and will remain attached to your account. If you no longer wish to be automatically registered and charged for any week of camp where you are on the waitlist, please remove yourself from the list so that someone else has the chance to attend. Inquiries regarding waitlist order or status made to the staff will only be responded to as time allows.

  • To ensure as many people get the chance to attend camp as possible, we are enacting a 30-day cancellation policy. Any registration canceled 30 days or more before the first day of your registered camp week will be refunded 100%. If you are trying to cancel less than 30 days before the start of your upcoming camp session refunds will only be offered at the discretion of the Camp Director.

  • The full payment and health profile completions are due the Wednesday before your upcoming camp week. Health profiles and payments that have not been completed by the Wednesday before will result in a phone call, and if you cannot be reached a forfeiture of your camp registration. All forfeited camp registrations will have a $100 fee attached to their account for each canceled session.

  • While attending The Cibolo’s Nature or Art Camp, safety is our number one priority. We have all staff trained and equipped to follow emergency response plans related to hazardous weather, fire, a missing camper, a suspicious person, an active shooter, or a medical emergency. Our staff receives First Aid/AED/CPR training, sexual abuse awareness training, archery, and low ropes training if applicable, plus extensive training on behavior management, appropriate interactions with campers, and being effective leaders. We additionally follow strict bathroom policies, a buddy system, water bottle checks and breaks, and mandatory ID checks at checkout. If you have questions regarding any of these policies, please don’t hesitate to ask.

  • Our camp is committed to maintaining full compliance with all applicable youth camp health, safety, and operational requirements established by the State of Texas. Campers, parents, guardians, staff, and volunteers may report concerns regarding potential noncompliance directly to the Texas Department of State Health Services.
